Some rain by late Sunday
A much cooler but more seasonable start to our day, the first full day of fall. Today looks mainly sunny besides some passing clouds for far eastern MA. Highs will only be in the upper 50s to low 60s thanks to gusty winds persisting from the north/northwest, around 30MPH at times.
Fiona is now a Category 3 hurricane moving northeastward at 25MPH. The storm stays far away from the eastern seaboard but will still bring dangerous surf conditions at our coastline. Wave heights will be over 6 feet with rough conditions and dangerous rip currents. There may even be some minor coastal erosion. A HIGH SURF ADVISORY in effect through this evening. Conditions stay rough on Saturday.
Overnight will be clear, breezy and chilly. We will wake up in the low to mid 40s by early Saturday morning. Saturday looks nice and bright with highs a bit warmer, getting into the upper 60s. It does stay breezy through much of the day. Heading into Sunday, our winds shift a bit and we wake up in the upper 40s with afternoon highs in the low 70s. Much of the daytime looks partly sunny and rain-free but a few showers develop into the evening and overnight.
We start next week with seasonable temperatures, morning lows in the 50s with afternoon highs in the low 70s. A few showers possible at times.
